Wired sump plugs?

Postby TeamToad on Sat May 29, 2010 12:22 pm

Someone's just suggested to me that we have to wire our sump plugs for speed events now. I know it's necessary for bike racing, but can't find anything in the Blue Book or latest MSA regs changes about it. Have I missed something?
Cheers

Just so I know, what benefit would a wired sump plug do? If you lose it, surely you and the Marshalls will have greater things to worry about - like a load of oil on track.

Strange one.

Strange one.

 Rich......

The wire stops it coming loose and falling out... [BANG] ... so that oil doesn't end up on the track.

Thanks, guys.
Sounds as though I was given some duff information.
And everyone knows that oil comes out of everywhere except the sump plug on an old MG!
