Sprint Royale set-up Saturday October 4th.

Post by Steve C » Tue Sep 30, 2014 9:53 pm

If anybody is free to come and help us set-up Eelmoor on Saturday ready for the Sprint, we will be in there from 11am, until we are finished which should only take a few hours.

We will need to sweep some of the course, put up signs, fences and barriers, so the more people that can help the better. If you can come along please let me know on 07976 388849.

If you are free to come and marshal on Sunday that would be much appreciated as well. We have a full entry of 80 cars so it should be a busy day, with a very good cross section of interesting and competitive cars. As usual, we will provide you with a lunch voucher to spend at the burger van during the day.

See you there?

Steve C.

If anyone has a petrol leaf blower they could bring to help clear up on Saturday that would be helpful.

Didn't realize we had to phone to say we would be there, 4 of us turned up plus we think there were others as well. Oh well back for the real thing tomorrow, as long as we can get in!!

Thanks to the organisers for a great event, even with the cement break in the afternoon ;-)

Good to see lots of people I haven't seen for a while, it was good to stretch the Karmann Ghia's legs for the first time. Unfortunately it developed a misfire in the afternoon and wouldn't make anything like full power.
So I made a graceful exit after the second timed run, the car limped home spluttering & misfiring not wanting to go over 50mph. Until I reached 2 miles from home and stopped at a junction, when I started again it shot off like a scalded cat down the road and now behaves perfectly with no hesitation or loss of power

I hate blooming carburettors !!

As always , Eelmoor was a great event with the Sky Lords being nice to us as always . I wasn't expecting to get 1st in class as Mr Jellet beat me last year by 0.47sec after many years of me getting ahead of him. An expedition across the grass at the return to the crossover , missing my braking point yet again , made me think my chances weren't that good , so well pleased :)
Somehow Eelmoor always seems to generate a social atmosphere , partly down to us all being squeezed in pretty close paddock wise . Many thanks to all those who work towards this event and on the day each year , in various voluntary positions ---- I enjoyed a great day :D
I remember having two events at Eelmoor which I liked because it gave you the ability to retain the fine points from your previous time :) , rather than starting each year afresh(in my case anyway  )

I would also like to thank FDMC and everyone that put time in to make a great day. It was my first time to Eelmoor and I must say what a great venue and as Rob said great people, one of if not the best day of the year.

Oh and getting FTD in my new car only having driven it once before was an added bonus :D

looking forward to next year already.

Just thought I'd pop in to say I really enjoyed my 1st sprint Marshalling at Eelmoor, and I think I'll try to do a few more if I can.
I could do with a little less sweeping next time if I'm honest though

Right, a day in Warren next for the Tempest, see some of you there. :)
