Autumn Antics 2015 Event Report

Posted: Mon Oct 19, 2015 11:41 pm
Yet again FDMC was blessed with Sunshine for another successful day of Motorsport.
Autumn Antics is a loose surface, forwards only, Autotest slalom.
Many thanks to Michael Weeks and his organising team for putting on some great tests.
This event is becoming legendary. Drivers came from as far away as Bedford in Herts, Gillingham in Kent and Eastbourne in Sussex to take part in the action.
It was like the pied-piper when Kevin Lower from Seaford drew into the paddock........followed by a convoy of 7 competition cars and only one of them was on a trailer. Yes, some of the cars looked rat-like too, or was that just the drivers
Event organisers put on complimentary Tea, Coffee and toast as well as a bucket of home grown apples too.
There were 3 main test layouts, taking between about 30 and 60 seconds to complete.
The afternoon was also blessed with sun while the drivers coached their cars around test 4 5 & 6.
By the end of the day there were only smiles to see, EVERYONE had enjoyed a great day out.
Visitors had made comments that the tests were "awesome" and "epic".
As usual there was the Dudley family and Lower family in attendance in numbers. This year it was young Robert Dudley who stole the day, not only beating his Uncle by half a second but also his Dad by another 6 seconds, and this year he took Fastest Time of the Day too.
