Have fun up a a hill for only £20!!

Post by kartaphilos » Sat Oct 11, 2008 9:31 pm

The annual FDMC Production Car Trial takes place at Hungry Hill in Aldershot on SUnday Nov 16th. The regs should be up on the FDMC website soon. For those that know all about PCT's, you know what it's all about. For those that don't...read on!

This event basically involves driving up the hill between a course marked between poles....the further you go, the better your score. The best bit is that for the clubman event the car doesn't need tax or MoT so you if you have an old banger lying around you can find a friend and go for the 'share a shed' award. That said you don't need a shed to compete. A large variety of vehicles took part last year. An MGB V8 took part, as did a Nova, a couple of Fiat hatchbacks, and so on. The event was won in an MG midget.

Looking forward to seeing a bunch of entries from FDMC members. If you have any questions just shout.

Matt

Is an Evo suitable? Or am I better off borrowing my wifes Micra? (If she will let me)

My guess is the Micra is the better bet. A bit of ground clearance is probably useful.

Still plenty of places left for the car trial. It's cheap and a little dirty....what more incentive do you need to get an entry in the post!

You can find the regs here - http://farnboroughdmc.org.uk/FDMC2008cartrialregsV2.pdf

Ah, didn't happen, did it? You missed a good day, from what I saw from the HQ. Seen the report and results on the main web site?

Thanks to all the competitors and officials who turned up on the day. I thought the event went pretty well and was amazed by how far up the hills some of the sheds went!

I heard a few say it was...
The best FDMC Car trial in 2008
Cheers,
Matt
