November Trial, Hungry Hill 14th November.

Post by Steve C » Mon Oct 18, 2010 8:33 am

We have started the organisation of the November Trial and would expect to be have regulations available very soon.

There is one large problem though, as we need someone to take on the job of Secretary of the Meeting for the day. The job entails taking in entries and to look after some of the pre-event paperwork as well as looking after the signing-on on the morning of the event, as well as looking after the results on the day. We will provide help and assistance for whoever takes on this important job, but you will need to come forward before the end of this week so that we can move everything on.

If this position is not filled we will have to consider cancelling the event. If you can help then please let me know soonest.

Steve C.

OK guys you can stop worrying now, someone has come forwards to take on the job.

The regulations will be on the web-site soon and some will be available at the Autumn Antics. With any luck some of you entering the "share a shed" award on the Autumn Antics should have enough life left in the car to have a go at the trial a few weeks afterwards. Grab an entry form and send it in to Matt Downes along with your cheques.

See you there.

Hi All

Right then... I've been sweet talked by Mr C into handling the paperwork for this event.
We've got a nice run of entries already in, with more on the way.

As usual this is a club run event, so I'll start the begging for offers of help early !

A few hands would help with setting up on the Saturday, and perhaps more importantly - some willing volunteers to marshal the event itself wouldn't go amiss. Why not come along and see what this other form of motorsport is all about ?

Without sufficient marshals the event will be very difficult to run, so if you're not busy that weekend, please do get in contact with myself or with the Clerk, Simon May.

Thanks

I have not been to this event before, so I do not know what the course is like, or what the event is all about. But looking at teh photos from last year it looks fun!

Am I likely to damage teh Evo if I try to use it? It is a bit lower than a standard family car, but not a lot lower. Also do you have to have a passenger?

Shaun,

I would suggest that the Evo is not really suitable for this venue, as it can damage cars, and has done in the past! The other problem with the car is that being 4 wheel drive, it is not allowed to run!

We do allow car sharing though, so if you can find someone who is entering but is on their own you might be able to persuade them to let you double enter the event. Alternatively, if you can find yourself a "shed" to run for the day you may even be able to find someone to come and join you.

If you decide not to enter, you could always come along and marshal, as Simon May is always on the lookout for people to look after each of the hills.

Thanks Steve.

Does anyone have a car they are willing to risk letting me drive?

If not I'll probably come along and help marshall, I'll even try to remember to bring back teh FDMC stopwatch I took home after the antics last month.

Having had a chat with Simon May earlier, we could still do with 3 or 4 sets of hands (preferably attached to a person) to help marshall the PCT on Sunday.
It'll be pretty busy with an entry list of 35+ (& they're still coming in).

If you are available to assist, please do volunteer your services to Simon or myself asap.

Thanks

Just got in from work, & the postbag block booking from the Lower family takes the entries to 34.
So just 6 spots remaining, before I start a reserves list.

I'm not sure if I can help Sunday - but if I can make it what time do I need to be there by?
