Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd May 2015
It is that time of year again when we look to organise and run our first speed event of the year. The Dimanche Sprint at Rushmoor Arena.
To do this, your Club will need help in the setting up of the venue on Saturday 2nd May. We aim to meet up from 11am to achieve this. Help will be needed in making sure the course is clear of debris and ready for competition on the Sunday. The course will need to be laid out with cones, signs and barriers to be put in place to mark it out. If everyone pulls together, this can be completed in around 3 hours in total, leaving plenty of time to go back home to catch up with the shopping!
On the Sunday we will need help to run the event and to make it as safe as we can for the competitors. 15 marshals will be needed for the Paddock, Start Line and Course. Signing on will start at 7-30 am, ready for practice to start at 9-00 am. As usual, anyone who turns up will be provided with a voucher to spend at the burger van during the day.
Practice will consist of 2 runs at the course, with up to 4 runs in the competition. As I write this, we have an entry of nearly 60 cars, with our usual great selection of cars, both Classic and Modern, so how could you resist the chance of seeing them in action? We are praised for the friendly, good-natured events we run, so why not get close to the action and help out your Club in the process?
